Jayleen Solorzano, Pajaro Valley, Sr.: One of the bright spots for Pajaro Valley’s athletic program last school year, Solorzano figures to be one of the most well-rounded three-sport student-athletes once again.

Last season, she quickly became the Grizzlies’ top cross country runner in the fall and also helped break the school record in the 4×100-meters on the track in the spring. But Solorzano made her biggest impression with her play on the basketball court in the winter.

Despite the Grizzlies’ last-place finish in the Monterey Bay League Pacific division, Solorzano earned a spot on the all-league first team for her scoring and passing prowess. With Pajaro Valley now in the Pacific Coast Athletic League Santa Lucia division, she will most likely be on the short list of league M.V.P. candidates at the start of the basketball season.
