Frances Ann Ortiz passed away at home on January 3, 2017. "Nani" as she preferred to be called, was born Frances Ann Tavera on June 26, 1960 in Beeville, Texas.
Frances was the daughter of Juan and Maria Tavera She is survived by her husband Joe Ortiz; her three sons: Richard De la Paz, Joel Ortiz, and Justin Paul Ortiz; two daughter-in-laws: Michele De la Paz and Nataly Ortiz; seven grandkids: Richele, Richie, Teyana, Rielyne, Raeggan, Niko, and Maceo. She also leaves her siblings, and lots of nieces, and nephews.
Frances is most fondly remembered for her generous heart and spirit and her love of life. She loved taking pictures and she loved chocolate!
Frances was a licensed cosmetologist and worked at the Watsonville Post Office for many years. Known to some as the “mail lady,” she delightfully delivered mail to her customers and made many heartfelt connections with them. She made many friends on her “route."
Frances believed that one of her purposes in life was to ensure a “good life” for her children. Guided by this belief, she worked hard to provide them opportunities not available to her growing up.
Her unrelenting love, feisty spirit, and bright smile will forever stay with us.
