Alfredo “Freddie” Riojas died September 12, 2017, at his home in Watsonville.  He was 74.  A native of Eagle Pass, Texas, he had lived in Watsonville since 1955. 

Mr. Riojas worked for Del Mar Foods for 30 years as a forklift driver in the shipping and receiving department.  He enjoyed working with wood, building and fixing anything. He also loved to shoot pool and spend time with family.

Mr. Riojas leaves his wife, Darlene; a daughter, Diane (Steven) Pena of Morgan Hill; three grandchildren, Steven, Brianna, and Marissa Pena.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2017, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.  Cremation and burial at Valley Public Cemetery will take place at a later date.
