Dance Week kicks off in Santa Cruz

Members of Te Hau Nui perform a Hawaiian dance Thursday evening in downtown Santa Cruz as part of 2018 Santa Cruz Dance Week. The event, which is free to the public, unfolds on three open air stages on Pacific Avenue and Cooper Street through April 28. Dozens of dance groups, from Zumba and Brazilian to square dancing and modern are part of the fun. The dancing runs from 5:20 p.m.to 9:20 p.m. Motor traffic is being detoured around the event.
