Resident of Las Vegas, NM

David’s life was tragically cut short on January 15, 2018 in Las Vegas, New Mexico.   At the time of his passing, David was a Graduate Student in Media Arts at Highlands University, in Las Vegas, New Mexico.   He loved attending Highlands and was thrilled to have found his home away from home.   

David was born in Watsonville and raised in Santa Cruz County and had at one time called Toana, Virginia his home before going off to Grad School in New Mexico.  David loved photography, cooking, making pixel art, playing his extensive collection of video games, listening to classic rock, playing the drums, and enjoying a glass of beer (Guinness and Old Rasputin were a couple of his favorites). 

David is preceded in death by his beloved uncle, Steve Nethercutt.

David is survived by his mother, Mary Ellen Snider; his father, William Halward; his sister, Sara Halward; his maternal grandparents, Ezequiel & Pomposa Paz.  His aunts and uncles; Alma & Steve Chiesa, Rachel & Greg Stahl, Suzie & Dave Jones, Sara Paz-Nethercutt, Lori & Ryan Gregg.  His cousins; Tom & Marc Chiesa, Dylan Stahl, David & Kaitlyn Jones, Paige & Austin Nethercutt, Taylor & Mia Gregg, Jeff Thomas and many other family members, and friends. 

A memorial and Celebration of Life will be held in David’s honor in the near future.
