David Reyes Orozco died peacefully at his Watsonville home on Friday, July 13, 2018. He was 86.

Mr. Reyes was born to Primitive Reyes and Antonia Orozco in Michoacán, Mexico on Feb. 24, 1932. He resided in this community for many years and owned his construction business for 60 years. He was a hard worker always providing for his family. He also liked to work on home projects. Mr. Reyes enjoyed eating healthy by picking fruits and vegetables straight from the plants, trees and vines and also taking long walks.

Mr. Reyes is survived by his two sons, David and Abelardo Reyes; eight daughters, Francisca Reyes, Guadalupe Tapia, Gloria Savala, Maricela Romero, Elsa, Irma, Columba, Adriana Reyes; 40 grandchildren and 75 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Gonzales; and son, Leonel Reyes.

Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Saturday, July 21 from 5-9 p.m. with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. Burial will take place in Mexico.
