Dolores Ann Halward, a former resident of Watsonville, died on Thursday, June 7, 2018. She was 58.

Mrs. Halward was born in Degollado, Jalisco, Mexico in July 1959. She was raised by her parents, Gonzalo and Elodia Ruiz, and brought up in a beautiful home along with her nine younger siblings. Her desire for adventure and new experiences led her to meet and soon after marry her soulmate, Richard L. Halward. She had two children, Ricky and Leslie, whom she loved passionately, and she would continue to love and raise her family for 34 years.

Mrs. Halward was a joyous inspiration to all who met her, and greeted every day with a smile and a sense of fun. She was an amazing pillar of spirituality and a dedicated servant to God.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 14 with the Rosary recited at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel (222 East Lake Ave., Watsonville). Chapel Blessing Service will take place on Friday, June 15 at 1 p.m. at the same location, with burial service at the Pioneer Cemetery located at 66 Marin St., Watsonville thereafter, at which time she will be laid to rest within the family crypt.
