Driver in Pinto Lake hit and run arrested

WATSONVILLE — A Watsonville woman was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of felony hit and run from a March incident at Pinto Lake County Park.

On March 9 the California Highway Patrol responded to a hit and run collision involving two pedestrians and a car at Pinto Lake County Park, 757 Green Valley Road.

“An errant driver of a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu struck two pedestrians, pinning a 28-year-old female from Aptos between the Chevrolet and a parked car, causing a severe leg injury,” the CHP said. “Additionally, a 12-year-old female from Watsonville sustained minor injuries during the collision.” The driver of the Chevrolet fled the scene on foot and was not identified at the time of the collision.

The CHP conducted a “complex investigation” and identified the driver as Domitilia Fransisco Moreno, 22. She was arrested at her Union Street home for felony hit and run and driving while unlicensed. Moreno was booked without further incident at the Santa Cruz County Jail.
