Senior quarterback Derric Estrada-Haro tossed a pair of touchdowns and ran for one, junior receiver Andrew Seymour caught a score and ran for another and St. Francis High finished up its preseason with a 48-7 win over Pacific Grove High on Friday night in Pacific Grove.

Senior running back Mario Velasquez caught Estrada-Haro’s other touchdown pass but the Sharks (3-1) really made their money on the ground. 

St. Francis finished with 230 yards rushing as a team on 44 carries. Junior running back Abel Martinez led the way with 58 yards on 14 touches. Junior running back Devon McLeod and junior fullback Aaron Soto each scored a rushing touchdown.

Sharks’ junior linebacker Andy O’Rourke recovered a fumble for a score.

St. Francis begins its inaugural season in the Mission Trail Athletic League’s new Coastal division on Sept. 23 at home against Marina High at 2 p.m.

Carmel 40, North Monterey County 0 — The North Monterey County High Condors could not keep pace with the Carmel High Padres on Saturday afternoon in both teams’ preseason finale.

N.M.C. (1-3) travels to Watsonville on Sept. 22 to play the Watsonville High Wildcatz in their first game of Monterey Bay League Pacific division action.
