Jesus Ortiz-Rocha died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Watsonville Community Hospital on Aug. 6, 2019. He was 87.

Mr. Ortiz-Rocha was a resident of the community for about 50 years. He was a hard worker who loved his job as a field worker in the artichoke harvest, and was a good provider for his family. He liked to watch boxing matches on television and listen to music and especially take long rides on his bicycle. Mr. Ortiz-Rocha was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.

Jesus Ortiz-Rocha is survived by his wife, Juana Ortiz of 67 years; four sons, Jose, Jesus, David, and Gerardo Ortiz; four daughters, Angela, Elena, Leonor, and Alma Ortiz; 23 grandchildren and 29 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Aug. 12, from 5-9 p.m. with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians on Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
