SANTA CRUZ—This Saturday, Chadeish Yameinu of Santa Cruz will be hosting a special Seder meal in celebration of Passover.
Seder meals are ritual feasts for Jewish congregations and families which mark the start of Passover, a major holiday commemorating the libration of Israelites from Egypt.
Chadeish Yameinu’s Seder will be a vegetarian (and Kosher) meal, held at a beachside location on the West Side of Santa Cruz.
The meal is $15 per member and $25 for non-members, though no one is turned away for lack of funds and all donations are accepted.
RSVPs are needed, and asks signed-up guests to arrive promptly at 6:15 p.m. (The group will not be able to accommodate late arrivals.)
To RSVP email Rose Lobel at [email protected] Be sure to specify how many people will be attending. Once you RSVP, the specific location of the meal will be provided.
In addition to the meal, Chadeish Yameinu will be collecting pairs of (new) socks to donate to the Santa Cruz Downtown Streets Team.
Next weekend another special public event will be held by Chadeish Yameinu to celebrate its founders, Richard and Diane Klein.
“Honorable Menschen” will be held at Temple Beth El, 3055 Porter Gulch Road in Aptos. The event will offer hors d’oeuvres, a no-host bar and vegetarian meal provided by India Joze restaurant. A silent auction will be held, as well as live music from the Kuumbwa Jazz Honor Band and Orchestra Chutzpah, and a dramatic reading from Mike Ryan of Santa Cruz Shakespeare.
Tickets are available at brownpapertickets.com. For questions contact Shira Belford at [email protected] or call 423-4137. To become a sponsor of the event email [email protected] Proceeds will benefit Chadeish Yameinu.
