Aptos and Pajaro Valley each secured wins in District 39 Little League Majors All-Star pool play on Wednesday night in Scotts Valley.
Aptos beat host Scotts Valley, 4-1, in pool A while Pajaro Valley edged Capitola-Soquel, 9-5, in pool B.
It was Aptos’ third win of pool play. It also topped Live Oak and Santa Cruz National.
Pajaro Valley is also undefeated in pool play heading into the weekend. It scored wins of 15-3 and 13-3 over Watsonville American and Santa Cruz American, respectively.
Both teams close out pool play on Saturday. Aptos plays San Lorenzo Valley at 10 a.m. and Pajaro Valley squares off against Watsonville American at 1 p.m.
• 11s All-Stars - Watsonville American notched its second win of District 39 Little League 11s All-Star pool play on Wednesday night at Ruso Field in Watsonville.
Watsonville American beat Santa Cruz National, 7-6, to improve to 2-1 in pool A.
In pool B, Pajaro Valley lost 9-5 to Santa Cruz American. It was Pajaro Valley’s second loss of pool play, dropping it to 1-2.
Watsonville American faces Aptos today at 5 p.m. in its final game of pool play.
Aptos lost its first two games of pool play, but rebounded on Tuesday with a 19-6 win over Live Oak.
Pajaro Valley plays San Lorenzo Valley on Saturday at 1 p.m. in its pool play finale.
• 10s All-stars - Aptos won its second consecutive game of District 39 Little League 10s All-Star pool play on Wednesday night, routing Watsonville American, 21-2, on its home diamond.
Aptos beat Santa Cruz National, 7-6, on Sunday after opening pool A action with a 17-1 loss against Capitola-Soquel.
Watsonville American has had a tough tournament, losing its first two games by a combined score of 35-9.
In pool B, Pajaro Valley has yet to record a win. It lost its third game of pool play 15-5 to Santa Cruz American on Wednesday at Live Oak.
Pajaro Valley closes out pool play on Saturday against host Live Oak at 10 a.m.
Aptos plays its pool play finale tonight at 5:30 p.m. against San Lorenzo Valley at Pinto Lake.
Watsonville American hosts Santa Cruz National at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
• Breakers split weekend games - The Santa Cruz Breakers FC split their two-game weekend road trip, beating the San Diego Zest FC, 2-0, on Saturday but losing to the FC Golden State Force, 2-1, on Sunday.
Willy Miranda and Walmer Martinez scored in the victory at Sage Creek High in Southern California.
Emmanuel Montion scored for the Breakers in their loss at Rio Hondo College.
With four games to play, the Breakers (5-3-2) are in second place in the Southwest Division.
They will play third place Ventura County Fusion tonight at Monterey Peninsula College at 7:30 p.m. before heading to Kezar Stadium on Sunday at 2 p.m. to play the San Francisco City FC.
