Lonnie Gerald Lacy, Jr. died at Stanford Hospital June 3 with his family by his side. He was 53.
A Watsonville native, he graduated from high school and began his 33-year career as a truck driver with Waste Management, now GreenWaste Recovery.
His passion was building and racing cars. He had also enjoyed racing bikes and motorcycles when he was younger. When he wasn’t racing cars, he was a spectator at many pro racing events. Lonnie also enjoyed camping and boating.
Lonnie is survived by his parents, Shirley and Lonnie Lacy; an aunt, Gerry (Jimmy) Ash; and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Tommie.
A visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel, with a recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
