The investigation against Meza-Cortez began after a 17-year-old victim came forward and reported the sexual abuse, Watsonville Police spokeswoman Michelle Pulido said.

As the investigation unfolded, detectives learned of a second victim, Pulido said.

The victims told detectives that the abuse began when they were 15, and that it lasted a couple of years.

Detectives arrested Meza as he left work Wednesday afternoon.

Police believe there could be additional victims. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Rudy Lopez at 768-3357.
