Manuela “Nelly” Paniagua Noble passed away peacefully on May 18 in Watsonville surrounded by family. She was 91.
She was born on December 26, 1927, in Mexico City D.F., Mexico. She lived in Tijuana B.C., and later immigrated to the United States in 1977, first living in Los Angeles for several years before making Watsonville her home.
A resident of Watsonville for 33 years, she was a self-employed nanny. During this time, she became a citizen of the United States. Some of her favorite pastimes included crocheting and cooking. She loved attending family gatherings and visiting with friends. She enjoyed sharing stories about her life; how she lived it without fear and on her own terms. She also loved singing.
She is survived by her eight children, 26 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by two of her children.
Services will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on May 31 at 11 a.m. Mehl’s Colonial Chapel has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
