Martin B. Lopez died peacefully surrounded by his family in Watsonville on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018. He was 48.

Mr. Lopez was born on Jan. 1, 1970 in Tijuana B.C. Mexico. He was an avid soccer player for more than 30 years and was number 16 with Atletico Watsonville. Above all his life was devoted to his family and their happiness. He loved family gatherings and spending time with his children.

He is survived by his wife, Amalia Contreras De Lopez; his children, Karina Lopez and Luis Felipe Lopez; his siblings, David, Gabriel, Laura, Silvia, Antonio, Gerardo, Ana and Charo; and his parents, Josefina Bernardo and Felipe De Jesus Lopez.

Visitation services will be held on Monday, Feb. 19 from 5-9 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. at St. Patricks Church, 721 Main St., Watsonville with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery, 2445 East Lake Ave., Watsonville.
