Robert Zottarelli, aka “Bob,” “Zott,” and “Noisy,” passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, May 10, 2018.  He was born June 6, 1945 in Queens, New York.  His family took a train across the U.S. to eventually settle in Niles, California.  In 1980, after the passing of his parents, Ernest and Frieda Zottarelli, he moved his family to Santa Cruz County, settling in La Selva Beach in 1983.

He is survived by his daughter, Davina Zottarelli, (Antony Madison), and his sisters, Margie Matteucci, Rosie Hartman and Annette Williams.  He is also survived by his dearest friend and companion of many years, Judy Leguillon.  He was adopted by the children of Judy Leguillon (Ben Leguillon, Dagmar Leguillon (Madeline and Nicholas), Renee Morgan (Jason, Charlotte and Natalie), and Vanessa Alvarez, (Brian, Justin, and Tyler)), who loved him like a father. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, who cherished him.

Bob was a tire salesman by trade and very well liked and sought out for his service and expertise.  He was a legend at El Patio Grocery Store where he worked in his later years, and brightened everyone’s day that came in to shop.  In his spare time, he volunteered countless hours to the community of La Selva Beach. Some considered him the “unofficial mayor,” as he gave his whole heart and spirit to his community and inspired many to get involved in community projects.   He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.

A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, June 3 at 1pm, at the La Selva Beach Community Church located at 26 Florido Avenue, La Selva Beach, CA 95076. A potluck reception will follow at the Clubhouse, 314 Estrella Avenue, La Selva Beach. All are welcome, bring an appetizer or beverage to share and wear your favorite orange attire!

Arrangements were under the care of Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.
