Santiago Medrano Haro

Santiago Medrano Haro died on June 15 surrounded by his loving family at Watsonville Nursing Center. He was a native of Mexico but a resident of Watsonville for more than 50 years.

Mr. Medrano came to California while the ‘Brasero’ program was in place.  He would come to work the fields for many years.

He is survived by his children; Zanaida Medrano, Brigido (Fidela) Medrano, Ramiro (Leonor), Medrano, Jose (Carmen) Medrano, Alfredo (Nicolasa) Medrano, Columba (Silvino) Medrano, Sergio Medrano, Elia Medrano (Francisco), Guillermina Medrano, Fernando (Carmen) Medrano, Santiago Jr. (Lorena) Medrano.

He also leaves 50 grandchildren and two siblings Miguel and Trino Medrano.

He was preceded in death by his wife Maria Rosa Medrano, his son Jaime Medrano and two brothers Aurelio Medrano and Francisco Medrano.

Visitation will take place on Monday June 24 at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel

From 5-9 p.m., with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m.

There will be a celebration Mass on June 25 at 10 a.m. at Valley Church, followed by burial at Valley Public Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted in the care of the Carroll Family of Ave Maria Memorial Chapel.
