Shirley Barbara McGrath, age 90 of Watsonville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 14, 2018 surrounded by her family.  She was born to the late Arthur and Hazel Edsberg on June 25, 1927.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Jim McGrath.
Shirley graduated from Watsonville High School in 1945.  She married Jim McGrath, of Watsonville, in 1949.  Shirley and her husband raised three children – Susan, Carol and Joan.  Family and friends were Shirley’s love and joy. She enjoyed cooking, golfing, restoring antique furniture, and traveling with family and friends. 
She is survived by her sister, Margie Minogue, her three children: Susan Constantino (Thomas), Carol McGrath, Joan Bassmann (George), seven grandchildren: Jamie Bassmann, Erin Bockman, James Bassmann (Stephanie), Jeff Bassmann (Katie), Colin Bockman, Lindsey Constantino and Whit Constantino, as well as six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the caregivers Fermina and Maria.  Also, Hospice of Santa Cruz County provided the most caring end of life support possible.
Friends and family, please join us for a luncheon in celebration of Shirley’s life held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Watsonville Elks Lodge, 121 Martinelli Street, Watsonville.  A private funeral and burial will be held. Mehl’s Colonial was entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Santa Cruz County or your favorite charity.
She will be greatly missed by all of us.
