WATSONVILLE — More than a year after breaking ground on its new facility at 101 Aviation Way, Watsonville Diesel is up and running.

Well, mostly. Mechanics were busy working on several trucks in the sprawling new garage on Thursday.

But the showroom for new trucks, tires and truck parts is still undergoing the final stages of construction. Owner Alfredo Garcia said that part will be open no later than April.

The 22,000-square-foot facility will also include classroom space for future diesel mechanics and a truck wash.

Garcia said he will have a staff of about 25 and 12 bays for trucks.

Watsonville Diesel celebrated the groundbreaking of the new facility in August 2016. The business moved from its former location on Lee Road.
