WATSONVILLE — Santa Cruz is known for being “weird.” It is, after all, the home of the Bigfoot Museum and Mystery Spot.

A new compilation of short stories by 17 local authors, “Santa Cruz Weird,” focuses on the strange, the unexplained and the just plain goofy from the Pajaro Valley to Bonny Doon.

A book signing and reading event will take place Dec. 15 from 1-3 p.m. at Kelly’s Books, 1838 Main St. in Watsonville.

Editor Nancy Lynn Jarvis said the book features a variety of different styles and genres, and includes something for every reader.

“It makes a great Christmas or holiday present because there is such a variety of stories that everyone will enjoy,” she said.

“Santa Cruz Weird” is available at Kelly’s Books, Bookshop Santa Cruz, 1520 Pacific Ave., and on Amazon.com.
